If you are interested in wildlife, join the Essex Wildlife Trust ecology group and get involved in the protection and enhancement of local wildlife and their habitats.

Essex Wildlife Trust welcome help from keen individuals to help survey our Essex wildlife - training can be provided.

There are a wide variety of species and habitats in the surveying and monitoring programme including:

Dormice - surveys carried out using tubes to assess the distribution of dormice in Essex and monitoring by examining nest box usage.
Pond biodiversity - assessing the biodiversity ofponds on Essex Wildlife Trust nature reserves using rapid assessment techniques.
Riversearch - surveying for signs of Otters and Water Voles.
Shoresearch - marine intertidal surveys around the Essex coastline.
